How does the Word of God, and the Good News get from inside our walls, out to the community? How do we bring grace and mercy to those we are in relationship with?  Invite your family to worship, Reformation Weekend Oct. 26-27!

Hearts for the Homeless

Have you noticed the red donation bin in the parking lot?  Hearts for the Homeless will be collecting and maintaining this bin.  This additional donation opportunity provides us space to collect ONLY items needed for Family Promise and Friends of Night People in the white wooden bin in the coat room.  Please see the specific wish list on the bin and put ONLY those items in.   All other donations may be put in the red Hearts for Homeless bin. Your contributions are welcomed!

Soup on Saturday (S.O.S)

Join us every second Saturday of each month as we gather after worship for fellowship and food. There is a sign up sheet at the back of the sanctuary so we know in advance how many will be joining us.  The next Soup on Saturday will be November 10th.  If you have any questions, please contact the office at 839-1314.

No experience, no references, no application form, no training, and the pay is great with many benefits! If you have two hours to spare on a Thursday morning, this is the volunteer opportunity for you. It takes just one hour to make the sandwiches and one hour for delivery. The job is approximately monthly – 13 times per year. Two partners work together and the job goes fast. The sandwiches are taken to Riverside and eventually go to a homeless shelter or soup kitchen in downtown Buffalo and feed those in need. To learn more, please contact Sharon Wall at the church. Thank you in advance.

Community and the work we do collaboratively is vital. In order for the mission and ministry that as Crossroads and collectively as Main Street Ministries does together, WE NEED ALL OF YOU.  Please consider over the next couple weeks of the ways YOU can serve.

The Main Street Ministries Youth Group has been participating in the national Burrito Project the third Tuesday of every month (next date is October 15th).  This group of volunteers prepare burritos/lunch bags to be delivered to the homeless on the streets of Buffalo. There is more information in The Messenger.  We are still looking for volunteers to prepare the meals, donate ingredients or supplies and, of course, drive.  Please contact the office if you have any questions.
